Speaking with love and charity as well as a desire to be at peace with others is a wise starting point. But it does feel like the culture puts all of the weight on being charitable on everyone to accept and support these pronouns while at the same time there is no effort at a mutual respect of different beliefs and values. This is so confused, backwards, and offensive. As a youth minister I am horrified that this is what is being suggested. Being attracted to the opposite sex, which is homosexuality, IS NOT A SIN anymore than heterosexuality is a sin. You cannot control who you are attracted to, only how you act on those desires. So instead of being attracted to people I should just “be holy?” I am so disgusted.

Just starting the video. This topic is really close to me. I'm straight myself, however, my brother is gay and is in a relationship with a recently transferred trans woman. I've stopped taking the holy communion in the past 1-2 months because I can't come to an answer on whether to accept the sexual deviant rhetoric or not. I know God says no, I know that. But it's family. And taking a stance against my brother ,my family is supportive despite being catholic, feels like I'll make enemies of those who are closest to me. What was lacking, was mentioning the Catholic doctrine - not even a new but an ancient one - and the Church Fathers, that *assault/violence DOESN'T take away the virtue of virginity.* Virginity is something to be given away by the decision of the will. So there was a mistake in saying 'that gift that had been given away _whether by volition or not'_ (ca. 14 min.) because these are two distinct situations: one which in fact makes a person lose the virtue of virginity (volitional intimate encounter), one doesn't (assault or abuse). (The violent act against one's will would disturb the material integrity of the body, however, since the virtue of virginity is moral/spiritual, it remains intact.) I suggest reading up about the subject, because these are quite fundamental things. I suggest starting from the Catholic encyclopedia.
